My Beach Memories Photo Contest Winners Fall/Winter 2020

While 2020 was a tough year, we were able to celebrate the silver linings with our guests through our fourth My Beach Memories photo contest. We’ve been accepting submissions from August 2020 through December 29, 2020 of our guests’ favorite beach vacation memories and we’re excited to announce the winners!

From stories of COVID-blessings and first visits to the beach to weddings and favorite activities, our hearts were warmed sharing in our guests’ joys, celebrations and beach vacation traditions.  We’re honored to help make dreams come true and provide our guests much needed rest, relaxation and a change of scenery with our pristine beaches as the backdrop.

Our first and second place winners earned the most points through their online votes and social shares. Our third-place winner was selected by the team at Newman-Dailey. Our staff pick was the result of reviewing the entries and narrowing it down to 10 and the team voted for their favorite submission. Honorable Mention - COVID-19 Blessings

“My husband and I both work in the hospital and after months of intense stress and worry we decided not to cancel our vacation because we needed the break. We didn’t want to stay home but we wanted to stay safe. We decided on renting in Destin, we’re so glad we did. We spent hours on the beach, we took bike rides, boated, watched dolphins and parasailed! We tried to capture every moment but our boys and granddaughter were in a world of their own, they chose to live in the moment! If they weren’t on an adventure, digging in the sand or just relaxing on the beach, they were in the water. Our oldest son pictured, we thought he would never get in the water again after his near-drowning. We were wrong. He entered the water slowly by the end of the trip he went all the way, it went well. This trip taught me, regardless of what life throws you my outlook on the situation will determine the outcome.
