1. Book Direct

Third party vacation rental listing sites such as VRBO, HomeAway, Air BNB and Flipkey are great when you’re unfamiliar with a destination or just beginning your search, but when it comes to making your reservation, ALWAYS book direct with the vacation rental company. These aggregator websites are funded through “service fees” that are paid by the traveler. Depending on the website, service fees range from 4% to 10% of your total rental rate.
