Newman-Dailey Real Estate Agent Carolyn DeFibo Lends Helping Hand to Neighbors in Panama City

In an effort to ensure the students at Parker Elementary School in Panama City felt the joy of Christmas, Newman-Dailey Real Estate Agent Carolyn DeFibo joined Mission Love Seeds to deliver smiles to more than 500 students impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Michael. Here’s what Carolyn shared from her experience: 

“I have been volunteering with Mission Love Seeds, a local non-profit, for  many years so when they decided to plan a party for Panama City students, I jumped right in. Children do not understand the destruction and we had to make it better for them. 

We managed to collect/purchase more than 500 bicycles, toys, backpacks filled with supplies so every student received a new bike and a toy! Santa was on hand with Mrs. Claus, along with a few Grinches, a stilt balloon maker and face painter. There were approximately 525 students and their families, so well over 1000 people. 

We had food, snacks, cake, cupcakes, and lots of other goodies. Pizza was donated by Papa John's and candy was donated by Destin Middle School. There were so many supporters that came together to make this happen.  

This wonderful celebration was held at Parker Elementary in Panama City on December 19, 2018. The smiles were unimaginable and it was a fun day that made my heart swell with pride knowing we made all those families that lost everything forget about all of that, if even just for a few hours.”
