2018 Paddle at the Porch in Destin Returns to the Back Porch

Stand Up Paddle Board races are growing in popularity across the U.S. and around the world. In Destin, Paddle at the Porch has become one of the premier SUP races in the Southeast. The 7th Annual Paddle at the Porch will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018. (yes, 8/18/18!)

While there are SUP races on bodies of water around the world, there is definitely something special about competing while paddling over the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Destin, Florida. When the race concludes, participants and spectators often stay and enjoy the soft white sand beaches and delicious fresh seafood at the Back Porch Seafood & Oyster Bar. The competition includes a Kids' Fun Paddle, 1-Mile Beginner Ride, 3-Mile Recreational Race, and 6-Mile Elite Race. Races will be followed by an awards ceremony. 

Race Start Times 
9 a.m. - 3/6-mile races start
10:30 a.m. - 1-mile race starts 
11 a.m. - kids' fun race (for ages 12 & under only) 

Registration/Entry Fees 
1-Mile Beginner - $35 until Aug. 17 / $45 on Aug. 18 
3-Mile Recreational - $40 until Aug. 17 / $50 on Aug. 18 
6-Mile Elite - $55 until Aug. 17 / $65 on Aug. 18 
Kids' Fun Race - $12 (This price does not include a race shirt.) 

Packet Pick-Up 
Packets are available for pick up at the Destin Chamber, located at 4484 Legendary Drive, Suite A, in Destin, on Friday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. They may also be picked up the day of the race beginning at 7 a.m., at The Back Porch.
