May Events in Destin

For those coming to the beach (or thinking about coming to the beach) next weekend, you’ll be excited to learn the May weekend is filled with fun events and things to do in Destin, Florida. Here’s a round-up of events and activities on May 18 & 19 so you don’t miss the fun!

Blessing of the Fleet– This is a special week in Destin, Florida as we celebrate the many blessings in this coastal community. On Thursday, the Blessing of the Fleet will take place at 4:00 pm at Fleet Marina behind Brotula's Restaurant Destin (used to be Fisherman's Wharf restaurant). Then enjoy a special Blessing of the Fleet concert by Bonray & Consumed by Fire on Saturday, May 18 from 7-9 p.m. at HarborWalk Village.

Billy Bowlegs Poker Run – Attention Boaters! The fun begins at the Shalimar Yacht Basin where you’ll be given a map of ports located throughout the Choctawhatchee Bay. Visit them all and return to the Yacht Basin for the post run celebration featuring live music, food and festivities. At the end of the day, they will announce the winning poker hands and present thousands of dollars in prizes. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Art Walk on the Harbor - HarborWalk Village will feature dozens of artists with a diverse array of talents and mediums. From traditional to contemporary art, and jewelry to painting, a wide selection of hand-crafted works of art will be featured as you walk throughout the Village. Bart Rockett Magic & Illusion Show– On Friday and Saturday evening at Emerald Grande’s HarborWalk Village, Bart Rockett will perform a world-class magic, illusions, ventriloquism and comedy show. The entertaining show is fun for all ages. More info and tickets available at www.DestinMagic.com

Comedy Night at the Block– On Saturday, the Comedy Zone will be at The Block on Eglin Parkway. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Comedians, Sid Davis and Rick Wey, are scheduled to deliver a hilariously entertaining performance for the May 16 show.
